So it started as a quick mail from my buddy Willem a.k.a “Die wille haai van Richardsbaai” saying: “Let’s go to Cape St. Lucia and fish, the sardines is running” he thought ja Riaan a.k.a redeyeball would probably have an excuses of kids duh-but wife, blablabla. But what happened was I mailed him back and said: "Cool we've got 6 boyz ready to ride!" Not a lot of planning went in basically we would get on the bikes load our top boxes with one set of clean under wear and reels and fit a fishing rod somewhere on your bike. I got fancy and fitted a rod holder on my pannier brackets.
Then the plan was leave Pretoria @ 05:00 Friday morning be in Cape St. Lucia round about 12:00 as it is about 640km drive down. Then fish for the rest of the day, drink. Saturday fish and drink and come back on Sunday.
On our departure day we were a total of 5 bikers and ready as can be! We had one GS650 with coolbox, three GS1150 and one GS1200.
Being the middle of July the cold gave a good bite, especially for Badprop who did not have heated grips on his bike, had to make a few stops for him to heat his hands and get some feeling back.
Pongola
Wind was pumping between Pongola an Cape St. Lucia on the N2. The GS1200, had custom made soft luggage, which was fitted on the top box which was as aerodynamic as a shovel, we called it the caravan.
With all our stops we only got to Cape St. Lucia around 15:00 and 10km before we got to our destination, rain was coming down like on a spring day in the Jacaranda city. So we pointed our iron steeds directly to the first dop shop (liquor store) we could find for some necessary refreshments. Then checked in into our self catering accommodation. Then got some provisions from local grocery store and took a load off...
It proceeded to rain the whole weekend so we didn't fish but at least made it to the sea.

The sun tried to stick out it's head late saterday evening. Only lasted for 17 min. then rain came down again. So the best plan of action was to go visit the ski-boat club and test the beers there.
